Mike Willard ware in Seattle for a week previous to the time their daughter, Joy, sailed for Tokyo, Japan, where »be has a civil service position. She started the voyage September 24. Mr». Dave Marshall was taken to Providence hospital in Portland last Sunday where she underwent a major operation Monday. She has been ill for several months st her home. Mrs. Harry Stone came here re cently from Tillamook to visit friends and relatives. She has been living with her daughter, Mm. Lee Johnson, and family at Tillamook. Sterling, Bob and Barbara How ard attended the Loggers-Lions football game. Mr. and Mr».- Bruce McDonald have moved from their home on the Keasey route to 101 B st. Scott, ownar of the Scott photograph studio, was taken to the Union depot in Portland last Friday in the Bush ambulance where he entrained for San Fran cisco to make his horpe with rela tives. Mr. Scott had been bed ridden for over a week before his departure. Mrs. C. U. Eiutrom recently spent a week in the new home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Steiner, at Longview. Gene Shipman and son, Bill, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Poetter returned Tuesday night after a vacation trip. The Shipmans visited in Spokane and the Poetters in Montana. The party left two weeks ago Monday of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Davis and their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Davis, left Wednesday on a car trip that wiU take them to Columbia, South Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Davis plan to spend about a month on the trip, returning by way of California. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Davis plan to remain in South Carolina where her parents reside. Walter Kent and A. I). Lolley are two hunters reporting early season luck. They bagged a deer shortly after the season opening Saturday on Green mountain« The animal dressed 208 pounds.
